Locally led, community-rooted, driven by care
Meet the Team
Yaman Albittar is a Syrian student, educator, and aspiring physician committed to expanding educational opportunity and rebuilding communities affected by conflict. Having grown up in Syria and witnessed firsthand the long-term effects of war, displacement, and educational disruption, he launched Light of Beginning to support conflict-affected youth through education, confidence-building, and meaningful community-centered programming. Yaman currently studies neuroscience and follows a pre-medical track in the United States, with long-term interests in medicine, trauma recovery, global health, and humanitarian leadership. His work is driven by a belief that peace is built not only through policy, but through restoring dignity, opportunity, and hope in the lives of young people.
